The internal evaporator and the free-cooling coil within the unit are managed via a three-way proportional regulating valve under microprocessor automatic control, which allocates water flow between them. The control logic determines whether to activate the free-cooling coil based on the temperature difference between the outdoor air and the return water temperature of the antifreeze solution. Once the free-cooling coil is activated, the compressor-assisted refrigeration will start only if the cooling capacity from the free-cooling coil is insufficient to maintain the set leaving water temperature. If the free-cooling coil alone can achieve the required temperature, the compressor remains off. The entire unit operates automatically to achieve optimal energy efficiency.
