The project’s air handling units are required to offer variable air volume, energy efficiency, and high cost performance. To meet these requirements, our company recommends the following solution: a packaged air conditioning unit equipped with a centrifugal fan without a volute, paired with a variable-frequency drive motor. The advantages of a volute-less fan include:

1. High transmission efficiency: The direct-drive transmission of centrifugal fans eliminates transmission losses, allowing the motor’s power to be directly transferred to the fan, resulting in high transmission efficiency.
2. Low Noise: Since the centrifugal fan uses direct-drive transmission without accessories such as belts, the transmission process is relatively smooth, resulting in lower noise levels.

3. Easy maintenance: Compared to belt-driven centrifugal fans, direct-drive centrifugal fans have simpler components and are easier to maintain.

4. No secondary pollution—The centrifugal fan with a direct-drive motor has no belts or other accessories, so there’s no risk of secondary contamination caused by belt wear.
